Dr. Iris Arad

Dr. Arad worked for many years as a professional programmer and information scientist in the high tech and health industries. In the course of her work she specialized in mass digitization of printed documents, exploring the techincal, logistic and linguistic aspects of digitizing scientific texts. Her research interests include digital image processing and optical character recognition as well as text processing and corpus linguistics.


Dr. Arad completed a master of arts degree in general linguistics at Reading University, UK. She completed a master of science degree in machine translation at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, UK, where she also received her Ph.D in computational linguistics. She has an additional master's degree in library science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Head of the Hyperspectral Imaging Laboratory at Scripta/Spectra.
